The Year 2011

Looking back, I retract mostly everything I’ve said about 2011 being a lackluster year in cinema. Granted, there was a point where I had the misfortune of seeing a longer-than-desired string of, well, bullshit, but as a whole, 2011 has managed to impress me even months into the following year. From a minimalistic, ultraviolent 80s-infused gem to a deftly humanized and infinitely engaging sports biopic, there was a wide variety to choose from when compiling my list of 2011’s best, but all in all, I’m content with my choices. Scroll to the very bottom for links to my top ten best of the year along with last and next year’s archives.
